With over 22,000 students on campus, many students believe that when combined, their tuition and state support cover the costs to run UO.
Though students give a huge amount - not only in tuition, but by making UO a fabulous place to live and to learn - without private support class sizes would be much larger, faculty would be hindered in doing research, extras like the Career Center and the EMU wouldn't be readily available to students, and much more.
We know that tuition is expensive and are not asking students to make gifts, but rather to learn a little about the importance of private support and to appreciate the fact that 47,000 donors gave "hidden scholarships" to all students last year, by making financial gifts back to the university.
