Oregon vs. Washington State

After winning the week before, the Ducks were irresistible-even to those of us who don't give a tail feather about the game.

So, for the first time in my three years at this school, I went to a football game.

My dad brought my mom to visit their daughter and their alma mater, and they had scored two tickets to the game from a family friend.Because they were going to attend the game, Collin and I signed on and got our tickets right away, seniors that we are, and were able to go to the event together.

We slaughtered them, or as one newspaper put it, "stifled," which I had never heard before but thought that the wording was good.

Anyway, I had a ton of fun, and although I was mostly just kidding, I screamed louder than anyone in our section, which was extraordinarily close to the field.

Now, my Facebook page includes several pictures of me at a Duck football game, and I am proud to sport them. I feel like I have a better rounded college experience now that I have been to a game.
For the most part, I stick to studying and scholarly extra-curricular activities. But for the first time, I felt like part of a bigger, united University of Oregon. I felt like all of the time, money, energy, and devotion I have committed to this school culminated in a socially packed, recreational experience-something I could have done more of as an undergrad.

I've promised my dad that I will get online for tickets to the USC game. For some reason, that's important.... And now, I am excited to go. I want to get freezing cold, meet people around me, throw my fists at the field, eat $10 popcorn, and feel the rush of unity that can be felt in the middle of Autzen Stadium.
