This last weekend was quite a treat. My Mom surprised me and took me to San Diego with her to visit family and friends. I love San Diego not because of the weather or the beach (even though that is an ultimate plus) but because most of my relatives live down there. I am extremely close with my family so it was so amazing to be able to see them.
Both of my parents grew up in San Diego so there are always lots of people to see when we go visit. I was able to see all of my aunts and uncles, cousins and even some of my parent's high school pals. The weather was in the mid-seventies all weekend, which definitely made for a nice break from the clouds in Oregon.
Thursday we went shopping in Del Mar-one of the beach towns and had lunch on the boardwalk. Friday we visited my cousin in Pacific Beach for lunch and walked along the water until we met up with twenty-one of my other relatives for dinner Friday evening. My Dad comes from a family of eight, needless to say there is never a dull moment when all of them are together.
Saturday I soaked up my last few rays and went to the University of San Diego lacrosse game with my cousin. It was fun to go to a sporting event for another school, especially because my friend from high school was playing on the opposing team. It was a much-needed getaway after midterms week and I am missing it already. Let the countdown to Spring Break begin!
