I'm about to push the bounds of this blog like Papa's Soul Food just pushed the lining of my stomach. We've tackled some pretty heady issues in this blog: sports, education, occupation, nature, and travel. In my vow to continually push the envelope, we're going to tackle another pressing issue: culinary brilliance.
I have just returned from the best eating establishment, Papa's Soul Food, in Eugene. I'm sure many would make an objection to this bold statement, but unfortunately they are wrong. I challenge any reader to name another restaurant in Eugene that: a) has the best fried chicken in town; b) boasts an outdoor patio and stage; c) plays live blues and jazz on the weekends; d) serves Kool-Aid in Mason jars; e) offers the eccentricity and friendly atmosphere of the Whitaker neighborhood; AND f) has the best fried chicken in town (did I mention that already?). To any dissenters, I rest my case.
I must admit, I can only eat at Papa's maybe once every couple months, but that's only because it takes me that long to get hungry again. Papa's behemoth proportions at extremely affordable prices make this my friends' and my go-to chow destination. Papa's really does live up to it's motto that their "food's so good it'll make you slap yo' momma!"
If you ever find yourself in Eugene or the Whitaker, make your way to Papa's. May I just recommend pants with an elastic wasteband.
