Time Flies

December 26, 2008 - 1:54 PM

Oh my gosh!! Christmas is over. I can't believe it. Man, I thought 2008 and my graduation would never arrive and here it is almost 2009 and I have my first term of college under my belt. It's crazy how time flies. Someone once told me that each year of school seemed to go faster than the previous one. I had never really thought about that until my senior year, which went by super fast. College goes even faster. Especially since each quarter is only ten weeks long and an eleventh week where you have a few finals. It goes by so... fast. Before I know it I'm going to be trying to start my career (in what I'm still not sure).

Well I hope the holidays were a good time for all of you. The holidays have always been kind of hard for my brother and I and this year was a little harder for me. You see my parents are divorced so we have to split the time. Not an easy thing on the holidays. Luckily my mom grew up celebrating with family on the 24th and my dad the 25th. So we celebrate with my mom and the rest of the family the 24th and have our own little Christmas on the 25th in the morning and then we go to my dad's for a few hours to have Christmas with him. This year was a little harder for me because I had to work. Yes!! I came home and needed work and Hollywood Video took me back. Unfortunately they are open every day of the year. Seeing how I'm the "new girl" I had to work Christmas and now I have to work New Year's Eve. What a great way to see my family. It sucks a lot. I have had to work so much I don't hardly feel like I've had a vacation. I suppose I signed on for it, but I got promoted without even knowing it and it gave me the hours I didn't want. Now I open and instead of close, which means I get up at like seven to get to work on time and don't get off until about three or four. My mom is actually off this Christmas and I hardly see her. By the time I get home I'm just ready to sleep. It makes it hard to see friends too, because I just can't stay up so late. It's not just that though. Today, well I guess kind of yesterday, the snow is finally melting!! It's so nice. It was so pretty and so cool to have a white Christmas, but I'm ready to be able to drive again and go out and meet friends. Plus I got some money and have some shopping to do for Christmas!! Well there is no working today and I can drive so I'm going to see my mom and maybe go shopping. It will be a great day. Not to mention I got to sleep in since I don't work!! Hope you all had a happy holiday! Until next time...
