This quarter is really flying by...

January 28, 2009 - 10:58 PM

Man I cannot believe that the quarter is almost half over. This quarter is really flying by. I thought the first week was forever long. I thought this quarter would never end and now it's midterm time (my favorite time... NOT!!). I mean I can't complain about midterms. I don't stress too much and I actually think they are going to be pretty easy. I'll study for a few days, but there are no history dates to memorize or chemistry chemical compounds (or whatever you have to know in chemistry). I just have to know four weeks of lectures and vocabulary. Sounds stressful, but it's not so much. I still don't like midterms though. I don't know many people who just love taking tests. I have two on Friday (one after the other) and then two next week. It's just like they all pile up in just a few short weeks. At least in high school you only had to worry about tests at the end of the semester and it was three a day (ok I'm not making high school sound any better, but I think it is). Back to the point though. How fast time is just flying. I went home for that long weekend just about two weeks ago. I felt like I just got back to school. It has been a fun couple of weeks. I mean nothing special or anything, but just hanging out in the halls with the other girls. This weekend is a friend's birthday party and we have rented the communal kitchen to make food in and hang out. It will be a great time. This weekend will also be me buckling down and actually focusing on scholarships. They are very important, I know, but it so hard to sit down and just write scholarships. There are a lot of resources out there and scholarships for everyone and everything, but somehow when I sit down I feel like none are out there for me. I wonder (or more hope I guess) that it is just because I don't want to work on any scholarships. On a happier side this week has been a crazy week as far as weather goes. It has been pretty clear and super cold, cloudy with drizzles and super cold (all with wind of course), and finally today it was clear and cloudy and a little warmer (probably because there was no wind!!). What is even crazier to me is that it has been snowing off and on at my home in Vancouver, Washington. That is so crazy. We live on the valley floor so we never get snow. We are lucky to get snow and rain mix. It's so weird. I wish I could see it because we never had snow when I was younger, but at the same time it was such a drag when I was home over Christmas break. I couldn't drive anywhere and it was too dry to make snowmen with. I don't know how dry it is this time, but I do know that Vancouver is starting to learn to deal with the snow. We use to get a light dust on the road and school would be cancelled. It would be so cool for us on the day, but when we had to make up the snow day on a day we would have normally off, that wasn't fun. Well it's getting late and I would like to relax before bed. So until next time...
