OK, so at the beginning of the school year we had this really awesome street faire. It only lasted five days which is kind of sad because there is always so much stuff at events like this that you hardly get to see everything. Well it came back for three days this week!!! Wednesday through Friday it is going on here on campus. I love it. I still have no money that I can really spend there, but it is so fascinating to go through it every day. Each day seems to get more interesting. The pictures I took don't really do it a whole lot of justice, but it is all down thirteenth so it is hard to take pictures of. Not to mention there are so many people you don't see a whole lot, but you can see how elaborate and big it is. Well this one booth really caught my eye. You know the game Life? Well I'm sure you do and it you don't, well no worries because I am pretty sure I have never played it and had never seen it until like middle school or so. Anyway, this guy created the Real Game of Life. It is totally creative. It has everything, good and bad, that can happen in life. You can land on drugs, everything from a chocolate of sugar addiction to heroine and pot. Well then you have to roll to see if you are addicted and lose health points or if you roll a number that just allow you to get a small amount of pleasure from it and move on with your life. There is a place to get a job, get married, have kids, sex (premarital, marital, post-menopausal, and everything else you can think of as far as life situations go). It is creative ideas like this that make us take things a little more seriously when we are done and that make me just plain jealous that the most artistic thing I can do is write poems and copy Bob Ross paintings. I think there are so many talented people out in the world that are not getting the proper credit they deserve. This guy is definitely one of them. I watched a couple of friends play the game and just observed their behavior when they landed on the different spaces. They took it as a joke. You kind of have to when it comes to Real Life I think. So many bad things can and do happen to people that you have to be able to see things for what they are, but since we, as imperfect people, have to take it in a joking manner so we can hide our true feelings of being scared for anything like getting addicted to drugs, losing a job or health ourselves. Well anyway, I don't want to be too down. I just wanted to give this guy his credit on a great game. On a happier note the weather has been breaking with sunshine the last few days. It has been a typical warm but rainy spring in the Northwest, but it looks like we are going to start breaking into those intermittent sunny days with rain and cloudy periods. I love it. It means that summer is coming! I am nervous for my internship, but really excited too!! Well I'm going to go to dinner soon with some friends. So until next time...
