Today was a bit of a sad day. I went to my first men's basketball game. We played the Arizona Wildcats. Although the first half was always close we, the Ducks, were always the ones a few points up. I don't know what happened in the second half... They came back and just seem to have given the game away. The Wildcats starting scoring left and right and we were not rebounding well and getting the ball stripped or just letting the ball go CLANG off the backboard. It was so sad and painful to watch. The first half was so intense. I was on my toes and screaming with joy. We were scoring quite a few three pointers, which in my opinion are so beautiful to watch (that might be because I struggle with that far of a shot most days). We had so many fast breaks and took advantage of them in the first half and then came the second half. We got the fast breaks and had openings for a lot of great shots or drives, but we were down and they were trying to get up again so they just kept shooting the three pointers. Don't get me wrong, these boys can shoot the three pointers, but to only shoot three pointers?? That's a little too risky. Well then the Wildcats were scoring the three pointers left and right. I'm pretty sure that every other run down the court was a MADE three pointer!!!! Talk about hard to watch. We pulled it out in the last few minutes though. We took advantage of the fast breaks again and were making shots and taking shots that weren't necessarily three point range. It was exciting. I thought we might be able to do it. Then we had to foul every time the Wildcats had the ball because there was a little under two minutes left and it was less risky to let the shoot free throws (although not by much. I don't think they missed many free throws) then to let them run it down the court and give it to #43, who probably could have touched the rim without jumping, for a dunk. Well even though we managed to play a great second half (in the last two minutes) we didn't catch them. They beat us 87-77. I'm just happy we pulled within ten points. We were almost twenty down at one point. It was an on your toes game even though we lost. My friend and I were freaking out every time the ball came down the court in our possession. We did everything we could to make noise so that the Wildcats wouldn't score, but it just wasn't enough. I'm excited to go to another game. I would also like to go to a girl's game. I think that would be fun too. I played basketball four years in a row (then had a run in with a coach that wasn't too pleasant and decided I wouldn't play for him and I ended up traveling instead) so it is always so exciting for me to watch a game. I itch to get back on the court. I think it would be so cool to play for the university. I thought I would play for whatever university I ended up going to, but like I said, bad run in with a coach and I stopped playing. Maybe I can get involved in some rec basketball though. Well I hope you all enjoy the pictures. There is me all ducked out, shots of the basketball game, and random pictures of the crowd showing their support! Also there is the band playing our fightsong!! So until next time...

Nice write up. I think I will enjoy reading your articles. Most games are always more fun when you are in the bleacher and screaming with the crowd.
