OK, I actually have pictures of my room now. I don't know why I never thought of it before. Now you can see the space that I live in. As you can tell from the pictures space is pretty cramped. There is not a lot of room for anything extravagant. It is enough to live in though. I mean for me this room is already like sixty or so square feet bigger than my room at home. It's just that at home there seems to be more space because of the layout and the fact that I'm the only one that lives there. This room is 122 or 142 square feet (I forget, small in any case). That is quite a shock to some, especially those whose rooms are this big at home alone. It is really bad the first week or two you move in. You feel like a sardine in the room when you are in there with your roommate. After a week or two though you figure out where and how to put everything you brought with you somewhere so you don't trip over it and can still get to it easily. Then there is the fact that you really don't spend too much time in your room. You will want out of it every chance possible. The beds are different in each hall. Ours are captain beds. We have higher beds with drawers directly under the mattress and then space underneath them for more storage. Some rooms have loft able beds that have five settings or I think you can bunk them too. That leaves a lot of space of course. Then there are also just normal beds, like what you probably have at home. Then, for Bean at least, we have that lovely bookshelf in the middle of the wall. Desks are at the foot of the beds with a light above it that can double as a little shelf. Then there are these dresser things that are like a closet, but also have three small drawers on one side. They are not that big, but for me it works. A lot of the girls in the hall brought extra storage bins for their clothes, but I don't have the much so my drawers and dresser work just fine. Plus I packed kind of light know I wouldn't have much space. Then you can decorate the wall. As you can see I have my corkboard with some pictures on it. As I said, it is not a lot of space, but you really get use to it. It is nice having a roommate too. That is another thing that is hard at first, if you don't share a room at home, but you really do get used to having the company. Not all the rooms are this small, but unfortunately for you incoming freshman you are more than likely to end up in the older and smaller dorms. Some might get lucky and get bigger ones, but not all. Still, even the bigger ones are kind of small. Well that's my spiel about dorm rooms. I like them, I had a great time. I met a lot of cool people. It is something every freshman should do, no matter what school they go to.
