M....What a Party!

So Saturday was a girl on the second floor's birthday. Her name is Melissa. Hence the reason it was an "M" party. It was a lot of fun. A friend of hers in Duck's Village let her have the party there. The dorm rooms are a little small and I'm pretty sure people wouldn't like it if it would have been in the lounge. There were a lot of pretty creative costumes. We had mystery, Midnight, Model, Missy Elliot, M.D., Maid, and then there was me. Well Me wasn't my costume. I went as Martha Stewart. Well I attempted at least. I have a limited wardrobe. I was going to go as midnight because I have the perfect top for it, but I didn't have black pants to wear so my friend went as midnight instead. It was a pretty crazy night. I had never really met the girls from second floor before that night. Now I see them on a fairly regular basis. They are pretty awesome people, I'm not gonna lie. It was a good time too. Sometimes you just have to go out and have fun. Especially with this being dead week (which means professors and GTF's can't give that much work so you can start studying for finals) you really need a break. Most people have final papers (usually pretty huge final papers at that) to write and final tests to study for all week. A lot of stressed people dead week. The Knight Library is open 24/7 for that week and there are always a lot of people there. They even sleep there. I don't mean to scare you all though. It can be stressful, but not always. Honestly I think the ones that are so stressed are the upperclassmen and those who just put everything off until a few hours before. There are plenty who are not that stressed, like me for instance. I just finished my short story for my German final and I have to study for two finals that are Tuesday. I feel pretty relaxed. I also think the stress is a mental state just as much as reality. I think if you say you have so much to do and stress about it then it feels like a lot, but if you just take it one piece at a time, then things go smoothly. Anyway, that is why sometimes you just have to let your hair down and relax sometimes. Meeting new people and listening to music and celebrating a birthday was great for me. The people I met are all really nice people that I think I will get to know better in the future. Well movie night tonight in the lounge so I'm cutting out early. So until next time...
