Frankenstein Zombie

November 15, 2009 - 5:07 PM

Pounding; it's all I can hear. I have to use the bathroom. I make it there and back and am beat. I just want to go back to bed. I feel dizzy and like someone whacked me over the head with a board. I'm paranoid about getting a temperature and was looking for a reason to be able to go back to bed Monday morning. I take my temperature. During the wait I'm thinking, this is a waste of time, I'm not sick at all. Beep, beep, beep. Ok time to check. Oh wait I am sick. 101.6 degree temperature means no school for me. I couldn't believe it. I went to bed with a bit of a sore throat, but not feeling horrible at all. I called the Health Center on campus and they said I was fine and to drink lots of liquid and take something to reduce my fever and try and reduce the swelling of my glands. I decided to go ahead and make an appointment for the next day just in case. Good thing I did because I was 103 degrees Tuesday morning. My roommate left for class and left her poor roommate (me) lying on the floor with an ice pack over my forehead trying to bring my fever down. I was certainly pathetic. Had my appointment, got a strep test (no fun whatsoever) and then a blood count when the strep test came back negative. Craziness. My white blood cells were two and a half times higher than they should have been. Well I ended up going home Tuesday for the rest of the week. What a great way to spend week seven. I lied around and finally Thursday I was able to concentrate enough to start on catching up on homework. I'm back at school now and healthier than when the week started. Whatever it was must have just been a nasty bug. It's back to classes for me, for a week at least, and homework and staying healthy. I literally felt like Frankenstein and death warmed over this week (what a picture huh?).

Well since I'm no longer sick my appetite is in full swing again and it is dinner time. So until next time...
