Beautiful Desert

Hey ya'll!! OK, I thought today I would share some beautiful pictures my grandpa sent me from the desert in Arizona. I'm not going to pretend to know a lot about the desert, because all I really know is that it is usually really hot, brown, and plays host to cactus. My grandpa, however, is a desert lover. My grandparents spend from the end of September to April or so in Arizona. They like the warmer weather it offers at that time than here does. Honestly I don't blame them. Anyway, my grandpa goes wandering off into the desert almost daily (if not daily). He gets some of the most beautiful pictures. I mean they are all brown, but he is really good about catching the lighting on the hills so that it looks really cool and the cactus sometimes have their blooms that are absolute gorgeous. It's amazing how much the desert actually has that is pretty. Who would think that anything could grow there? Well like I said he goes almost daily. In fact he goes so often and knows some of the areas so well that he takes his friends from the motor home park they live in out into the desert with him on little tours. One day I'm determined to visit and be a part of one of these little tours. My grandma is not so into the whole wandering in the desert thing. She stays home with the other girls and just enjoys the sun from the little canopy off the side of their motor home. I don't know how she doesn't worry so much though. I mean I know my grandpa is safe and wouldn't do anything to harm himself, but she just waits patiently while he is gone. I'm guessing she definitely loves having the silence sometimes though. Well they come back in April and I see them and get so jealous. They are so brown and then I look in a mirror and realize how ghostly I look. I guess that's what happens when you go to a sunny place and I stay home and work. Oh well. One day I'll visit. I think my favorite picture my grandpa has sent was from a while back. It is a picture of a cactus with snow on it. I guess it can get cold enough to snow at night, but it melts pretty quick I'm guessing. I don't know if we even have it saved anymore, but I thought it was so pretty and pretty amazing. I was shocked that it was snowing there when every time I talk to them they are complaining because it is only seventy out, while here it is like forty or fifty. What can they do though when they live where it is usually eighty or ninety though? Well I have class soon and should probably get ready for it and I have already written a lot of a paper that is due soon so I'm a little tired of writing. So until next time...
