Well it's back to the grindstone...back to classes. I can't believe it. I don't want it to be so. I mean I'm happy to be back and see all my friends. I missed them a lot. I'm not so happy to be having all the homework and reading assignments. I'm definitely excited for the classes I'm taking though. I had my linguistic, German, and history class today. They were awesome. They are going to be fun. The instructors seem to be really friendly and looking at the syllabi's they look like really fun classes. I'm not going to lie; my linguistics class is going to be a lot of studying. We have to memorize all these morpheme sets each week (don't ask what they just yet, I'm not sure yet, but I'll let you know as soon as I know). There are a lot though. Then we are quizzed on them every Friday, well that and the lectures. I should be excellent and very proficient in the English language afterwards though. We learn how to break down words and see their roots and by that we should be able to tell where they come from (like German, French, Spanish). I'm hoping that it will help me with my German somehow. Maybe it will teach me to see the same things in German words I don't know. I guess by the end of the term the goal is for all of us to be able to look at a word we don't know and take it apart and then give the meaning of it. It sounds complicated, but I'm thinking it's not going to be. Well it shouldn't be if you can memorize a lot. Flash Cards!!!!!! I'll tell you what though. I must have been burning the candles at both ends this break with work and all. I fell asleep by about 10:45 last night. I don't normally fall asleep until midnight or so. I was so tired. Then I got up nine hours later. Tomorrow I just have my geography class and that's not until two so I can sleep in. I'm happy about that. Tuesdays and Thursdays are just geography for an hour and twenty minutes. Wednesdays and Fridays I have four classes though. I think the longest break between is about an hour or two. Enough time to eat a meal and then rush off to the next class. I feel like I will have a lot of time for homework and hanging out though. My schedule is more spread out this term than last and I have a lot of little time pockets where I can work on some homework. I'm going to like that. Then at night I can talk with the girls in the hall, listen to music, watch a movie, or read a book of my choice. I'm very excited for that. I don't know the last time I read for pleasure. By the time I was done with my reading last term I didn't want to even look at a book. I don't think this term is quite as much reading. It's more studying and writing which I'm pretty good at (if I don't say so myself) so it will be nice. I can maybe get to bed a little earlier so I don't feel so wore out come the weekends too!! Well we have one of the awesome mandatory hall meetings so I'm going to have to go now. So until next time...
