Oh my gosh. I absolutely love the sun down here in Yuma, Arizona. It is a good temperature here, mid seventies. I love it. I will admit that it is a tad breezy, but even so it is gorgeous down here. Yesterday was my cousin and my first day here. My grandparents took us to the Yuma Territorial Prison. It opened in the 1870's and closed as a jail in 1909 and was used as a school for a short time after, squatters were there during the depression, and was finally opened as a museum for people to visit. My grandpa decided that we were so bad that he put us in a cell. It was funny. They had steel enforced bars in a concrete room that was 12x9 feet with six people living in it and one pot to use for the bathroom. I agree with my grandparents, I would be reformed with just a few months in those small cells.

Then today we went to a trail somewhere in the desert. Somewhere called the Painted Desert and a national wildlife refuge in the area as well. It is so pretty. I have even seen the Colorado River and the first bridge built over the Colorado River. It is brown down here, and I won't lie, I'm starting to miss the green, but it has a certain beauty down here. I don't mind staying for a week, but I'll be glad to be back where it's green. I'll miss the warm weather though. I would have never got to come down here if I would not have done the internship through SW and I would not have had the opportunity to do the internship if I had not come to the UO. So in a way it is because I came to the UO.

Well I'm going to continue enjoying my week with my grandparents now. So until next time...
