I can almost say that my freshman year is over. I just have my guitar final at 3:15 and then I really am done. This has been one of the most fun, toughest, growing, and learning years. I'm sad to see it end. This really is not the end though. As the saying goes, "when one door closes, another one opens," or something like that. I really believe that. This year has come to a close, but next year is right behind this one. For me another door opens for this ridiculous internship that I'm going to be spending my summer for and then that will close for a year or so and then it's off to my second year of college. I remember my high school graduation like it was yesterday. I really can't believe it has already been a year. This has been the fastest year I have ever experienced. I met some of the nicest and coolest people in my hall this year. I will remember them forever and will see quite a few of them again next year. I think there is a core group of us that will keep in contact with each other. Next year will be a new challenge; classes will be harder, meeting more new people, and being more independent from parents. It is kind of sad to think of, but oh so exciting at the same time. All I can give for advice for any incoming freshman that may read this is to be prepared for tough times, tough decisions, pulling all nighters, to miss friends and family, and to try and keep up on homework and sleeping. Also make sure you meet a lot of people. This university is quite large and it is pretty easy. I'm not saying you have to meet hundreds of people, but find some in your hall that you can get to know. Your other friends won't be mad at you. You can keep in contact with old friends and still make new ones. Also be ready to find out who will keep in contact with you and who won't from your friends at home. There are some I thought would keep in contact and they hardly call, text, or write to me. It is sad, but I have my friends here which make it easier. The biggest and best piece of advice I can give is HAVE FUN! School is hard and sucks sometimes, but if you throw fun in your routine then it feels less stressful. Take a PE or dance class so all your classes are not the boring general education ones. Take classes you enjoy. Ok, that is my advice and my year in a short summary. I need to get to cleaning my room so I can be ready to move out when my mom gets here and I don't have much to do after my final. So until next time...
