Hey all!! Ok. It's Super Bowl Sunday. How exciting!!!!! Actually I have not even watched most of it. It's on in my room, but muted. I have trouble following football. Not to mention it just seems to me that they are not playing so well. I only watch the Ducks play so I don't know anything about the NFL. The whole campus is quiet and then all of a sudden you hear eruptions of screams of joy when a team scores. It's pretty funny. I don't understand why football is so intriguing. I don't understand it, yet I have no problem sitting down and watching it. Half the time I don't understand the calls (actually make that most of the time) and more often than not I lose track of the ball after the hike. I never watched it until college. Now that I'm here it's become an important part of my life. Either there is something about college that makes it so interesting or it's a great excuse not to do any homework (or maybe a combo of the two).

Well Friday was my friend's birthday bash (her actual birthday is tomorrow, but we celebrated early). It was loads of fun. We rented out the kitchen and TV room that is in our building and just had people bring food and listened to music and laughed. I think about twenty or thirty people showed in all, but we consistently had about fifteen to twenty always there. We are a crazy, fun-loving bunch of young adults. We decorated the rooms with a lot of streamers. It was very festive. We started at seven and went until almost midnight. Surprisingly enough the clean up was not so bad. Most of the streamers managed to stay up (and not be torn down). There was so much junk food. It was great. You need a lot of junk food for a party. It wouldn't be a party without all the chocolate (of course chocolate, given that it's a girl's birthday). I think all of us girls in this hall went to bed full of good stuff that night. It was a long day for me. I had class starting at eight that morning and I just kept going. Unlike my cousins though, I can't give the energizer bunny a run for his money (although I'm sure I could when I was younger). I'm just so use to getting up at eight to start my day now that it's hard to be up and going to class at eight. Next term I'm determined to have no class on either Monday or Friday or at least no eight in the morning classes.

All in all this has been a really fast and pretty chill weekend. I went shopping and bought some stuff, slept in late both days, watched some football, partied it up at a friend's birthday bash, and actually managed to do the homework that needs to be done before it got to be too late. Woo-hoo!! The next thing is to wait until eight so I can get some basketball tickets. So until next time... | ||

I don't follow the NFL as much as I do with college football too. Definitely hard to want to root for a team when we don't have a local one... then again there are four ducks on the Carolina Panthers:).
