First off I'd like to say I LOVE MY DUCKS!!! The Civil War game that was held at Autzen was a very big win for our school. University of Oregon vs. Oregon State University, green vs. orange, ducks vs. beavers, friends vs. friends, family vs. family. I know all my aunts and uncles were rooting for the beavers. As much as I would've loved and attempted to get a ticket, the excitement and pride is all the same no matter where you're watching it. The ducks won and that's all that mattered. Unfortunately, I missed out on the ticket. I wasn't able to stand in the crowd, and I didn't get to rush out onto the field with 30 seconds left on the clock. I did, however, watch the game with my friends, decked out in green and yellow, screamed and yelled just the same.
I loathed all the people who were lucky enough to snatch the tickets. It was the most historical game in Oregon, with both rival teams competing against each other to go to the Rose Bowl. You can sense the spirit in the air. In class, I noticed an unusual number of people decked out in school colors. While walking to the grocery store to buy ingredients for our potluck, swarms of students who didn't get a ticket were moving house to house to attend watch parties. I could even hear the famous "I Love My Ducks" song blasting out of an open window. I really love the spirit in Eugene. Almost everyone had one thing on their mind, and that was the Rose Bowl. Congratulations Ducks, see you in Pasadena.
