Every summer, I look forward to my yearly trip to see my family in Napa. I was lucky to have my internship end in mid-August this year so that I could have ample amounts of time to spend at home and then with my Napa family before school starts again.

Driving down to Napa is one of my favorite drives and I definitely realized how much I had missed it while driving down this time. The twisty road through the Alexander Valley is lined with scenic vineyards and the sun always seems to be shinning. I love passing through all of the little wine towns along the way.

Even more exciting was the fact that my aunt just moved out of the urban area of Napa and up into the mountains. It was exciting getting to find her house up there. It is certainly in the sticks and therefore a perfect place to just get away from it all and relax. The beautiful thing about going on a trip to see family is that there are no expectations or obligations. You really can just be a couch potato and forget about everything for a while or roam around the area and go swimming if that's what you want instead.

I'm going to soak in the Napa sun for the next couple of days, hoping to take some of its relaxation back with me to the north.
