The weekend following midterms: much needed relaxation and celebration!

After a crazy week full of midterms and homework, I got a pleasant phone call from my mom last Friday telling me she was coming into town that afternoon. In my last blog, I guess I came off as sad, because she said she had to come and help me with my grocery shopping and laundry since I was so behind. My mom and I went to lunch at P.F. Changs, went shopping at Nike Town, and then she took me grocery shopping.

After a fun afternoon with my mom, I had girl's night with some of my friends from Alpha Kappa Psi. We went to dinner and then went out to the bars later. Also on Friday, I played a game called broomball with everyone from Alpha Kappa Psi. The game is similar to hockey and played on ice. Substitute ice skates with tennis shoes, a hockey puck with a kickball, and a hockey stick with a broom and you have broomball. Although I fell on my butt a few times, it was such a blast!

Saturday morning, I headed to Salem for some more family time. After watching a disappointing Duck game with my dad, my mom made me a nice, home cooked meal. Although I eat fairly well in Eugene (my momma taught me well), nobody cooks as well as her. She made tacos...my favorite!
Also on Saturday, I got to hang out with my older sister, Kristen. Kristen got engaged last weekend, so I brought over some bridal magazines and we talked weddings for a couple hours.

Today, after a Nordstrom shopping trip with my mom, we headed over to the soccer fields to watch my dad play. We laughed pretty hard watching a bunch of 50 year old guys running around out there. My dad scored the winning goal of the game with a header from a corner kick! It was awesome!

Overall, I had a nice and relaxing weekend. It is always nice to blend a fun weekend of family and friends. Now it's back to the real world-full of work, class, homework, and group projects!
