Midterm Madness (and my Lillis lockdown)

I think this is the first time I have sat still all week! Since celebrating the Ducks huge victory against USC on Saturday night (what a game!), I have been in crazy midterm mode. My laundry has stacked up and my dishes gone unwashed. My fridge is empty because I have yet to go to the grocery store this week. My friends are wondering if I survived the weekend since they haven't seen me at all this week.

All of my Professors scheduled the midterms within 1 week of each other. 4 midterms in one week is enough to make someone go crazy. And me, being the professional procrastinator that I am, started studying for each test the night before (don't worry Mom and Dad-I passed them all with flying colors.)

Luckily, one of my midterms scheduled for this week was cancelled. For all you prospective students out there, that NEVER happens! Don't ever count on that happening! In all my time at the University of Oregon, this has amazingly happened to me twice now. For most of my friends, this has and will never happen to them. The first time this happened was sophomore year. My Mass Media Ethics teacher told my class if we were satisfied with our grade in the class we didn't have to take the final. Having a solid "A" in the class, I opted not to take the extended essay final and got to start my spring break 3 days earlier!

This year, the cancelled midterm was for my social media class. My professor decided that a 5 page, take home case study would be more applicable than a multiple choice test. I agree, because everything we have learned so far in this class would be hard to format into a multiple choice test. I have learned about blogging, Twitter, and Podcasting, and how companies can successfully implement these social media tools to promote their business. I have been focusing all of my assignment on the Sports Business world, and how sports companies are using social media currently.

So now that all my midterms are over, I now get to focus the rest of my energy this term on group projects. But before that, I am going to help my friend celebrate her 21st birthday tonight by ordering myself a margarita or two.
