This Halloween will definitely be one for the record books...literally. The Oregon Ducks defeated the USC Trojans in the football game of the season, breaking records all around. A record 59,592 fans watched the Ducks gain a record 613 yards on the Trojans to score a record 47 points. It was the most yards allowed and was the largest defeat during Pete Carroll's USC coaching career! There was no other way I would want to spend my Halloween than to be a part of Oregon Duck football history.

The crowd was dressed in all black, and louder than ever! On every play, Autzen roared and screamed and jumped with excitement and intimidation. USC had 5 false starts in the first half alone. I like to think that my obsessive yelling and cheering had something to do that!

The Oregon Duck dressed up as Darkwing DuckAlthough I loved watching the football game, I have to say that one of my favorite parts of the game was watching our mascot-the famous Oregon Donald Duck. He dressed up in various costumes throughout the evening, and even hid in a Trojan horse at one point. He is by far the best mascot in the Pac-10, and should be considered for being one of the best mascots nationwide. Heck, he even beat up the Houston Cougar a few years back-who doesn't love that?

Overall, the game was so much better than I could have expected. I was surrounded by great friends and great football. The student section was wearing all black, with the exception of some crazy costumes. I saw the Cookie Monster, Elmo, Donald Duck, Where's Waldo? , Teletubbies, and Storm Troopers to name a few.

At the end of the game, all the fans rushed the field to celebrate. Two of my friends and I joined in the festivities, and had to scale down a wall to get down. We got to see all the players walking into the locker room, and celebrate an amazing win with all the other duck fans!

After the game, the celebration continued throughout the city of Eugene. As I walked home and went to various parties afterwards, people would randomly scream something like "USC domination!" or "how about those Ducks?" After that, everyone in the area would suddenly scream and yell with excitement. I decided to call it a night around 2 am and head home, but the city was far from settling down. And although going out Saturday means I will be trapped in the library all day today studying for midterms, it was well worth it.

Next week, the Ducks are on the road to Stanford. Good luck guys!
