The Classes I Never Took

Today I was talking with a friend about classes at the University of Oregon and they brought up a class that sounded particularly interesting and said "You should really take this class." That got me thinking, I can't! I have taken at least four classes every term for four years. That is over 144 classes and yet I find myself wishing I still could have taken more. Here are just a few.

History of the Beatles

I mean really, an entire 10 weeks dedicated to one of the most infamous bands of all time. You get to explore the inspiration behind the lyrics, the drama of the band, and the media coverage of their lives.

Strategic Social Media

Social media is everywhere in our fast pace world. Most of it is just garbage. This class teaches students how to use it to their advantage and the advantage of the companies they might work for. Also, it helps you see through the BS that others are putting out there.

Philosophy

I am not thinking of anyone in particular, just a general philosophy class. I am a very logical down-to-earth person but thinking on a much grander scale would have been like exercising different body parts to make one stronger. A strength of the mind exercise kind of.

Billiards

This was the last class that Dennis Dixon took at UO in his final season. Besides that, I wish I would have taken this class because there is something about knowing how to play pool well that is extremely interesting. I think it is a skill that you can have in your back pocket if you ever need to make a few quick bucks at a bar.

There are many, many more classes that I wish I could have filled my time with at UO. I have enjoyed 90 percent of the ones I have taken and yet I wish I could have doubled up or something. If I did that I probably would have never slept though!
