Well, I have done it. I have received a job for after I graduate college! It wasn't easy, but it was all worth it. I am a future Training Coordinator for Fast Enterprises. All because of the University of Oregon's job website.
Through my daily search on UO Job Link, I found a job description that I seemed to fit in. I sent in my resume and references, and was called for an on-campus interview about a week later. The interview went well and the next day I was invited to Denver, Colorado for an interview. To say that I was excited was an understatement.
The entire trip was paid for. My flight to Denver, my cab ride to the hotel and from, and the celebratory lunch all compensated by the company. Through all this I could see how well this company treats their employees, which is important to me. They offered me a competitive salary, full benefits and a place to feel respected. Although it sounds perfect there is one small issue, the location.
My start day is June 25. Until 30 days before then, I do not know where I will be located. There are some really great places I could be sent like Denver or Arlington, Virginia. And there are some really not-so-great places like Jackson, Mississippi or Bismarck, North Dakota. Even though I may not like where I end up, I will be so lucky to have a job. Until I found out I will just sit back, relax, and enjoy the rest of my time at the U of O.
