As it happens at least once every season, there is always a time when I will have to go to work for the Rockies at a very peculiar and uncommon hour of the night. Last night we all had to be at Coors Field at 2 a.m. to conduct an un-pack for the San Diego Padres. For the most part these un-packs are generally kept at a decent hour, because the majority of the time we get a new team after a day game, so the team arrives at a decent hour. Yesterday however, it was a bit different and the San Diego Padres arrived in Denver after playing a night-game against the Nationals in our nation's capital. After the a 2 to 3 hour game and roughly three hours of flying time there was simply no way that the Padres were going to make it here before midnight. I don't know about the rest of you but not too many people can say that they have had to run to work at 2 o'clock in the morning. In all honesty, I find it to be kind of fun. Don't get me wrong, it isn't a hoot to be doing work when I would otherwise be sleeping, but it's fun to do something that is so out of the norm. Usually people tend to go to work from eight or nine to five and are stuck in traffic both ways. I'll tell you one thing: you'll never have to worry about rush hour traffic when you head to work at 2 a.m. I came home at five, slept for a few hours and here I am back on a normal schedule.

My internship at Kroenke Sports is still going great. All of our season recaps are done (thank god) and now I have moved on to a new, more exciting project. Qwest is one of our clients at KSE and during the Nuggets games they have an in-game promotion that involves random fans being asked trivia questions about the Denver Nuggets or the NBA all together. Recently, I was assigned the task of creating the trivia questions to be asked for the next season. I created questions about all kinds of things involving basketball, anywhere from what the Nugget's used to be named to who the only player is to ever score over 100 points in a regulation basketball game (Wilt Chamberlain of course). In doing this I was able to broaden my knowledge of professional basketball and learn things about the Nuggets that I never knew before. For example, who would have known the the Denver Nuggets hold a league record for fewest points scored in a quarter? Not me. I learned that in 2002 the Nuggets were playing the San Antonio Spurs on the road and managed to put up no more than 3 points in the first quarter. Yikes!

After months and weeks of unnecessary drama, King James has finally decided to take his talent to Florida to play for the Miami Heat. With Dwayne Wade, LeBron James and Chris Bosh on the same team, could the Heat be a favorite to win next year's championship? Perhaps. At the same time, could putting three enormous egos on the same team lead to a cat fight over who deserves the ball more? Possibly. Interesting choice LeBron. Let's see how it all works out.
