Spicin' It Up on Tuesdays!

Tuesday is always a great day in Eugene. Why you ask? It's because for some reason all of the restaurants in Eugene have phenomenal deals on food and drinks on Tuesday nights. For example, tonight me and a few friends are going to head over to the 6th Street Bar and Grille in the downtown section of Eugene. They have this deal called Burger and Brew that is too good to pass up. You get a fat burger, a nice pile of fries and a draft beer for only $7! It's quite the steal. The burger is loaded with only the best toppings-cheese, bacon, mushrooms, onions and delicious guacamole. The other nice thing about it is that it isn't like McDonalds, where you can only choose from one type of french fry. At 6th Street, you can choose from regular, cajun fries, or sweet potato fries (which may be the most delicious thing I have ever eaten). The same can be said for the beer as well. Instead of only being able to choose from Budweiser or Coors Light, 6th Street has a wide variety of authentic beers brewed from around the Northwest. I don't think I have missed a Burger and Brew session yet this term, and I don't plan to start this week!

Along with the last few weeks of college comes the realization that things will be different after graduation, so I have begun to do things to enjoy the last little bit of the spring term that I usually wouldn't have done otherwise. Sunday is usually my no-nonsense day. I wake up, do my homework, and complete all of the other various tasks that I need to get done for the week to come. This last Sunday however, I decided to do things a little differently. I woke up and took a nice stroll to Taylor's Bar and Grille with my roommates to get some breakfast. The sun was shining so I decided to enjoy a couple beverages and soak in the sun. We all got up to leave, and when I usually would have headed home to start some homework, I decided to go play softball with some friends over at South Eugene High School. I know homework is important, and I definitely got it all done, but I have decided to start utilizing everyday that I have left in Eugene.

The Oregon football Spring Game was last Saturday, and our uniforms were top notch. I expected nothing less from our squad, known for sensational uniforms, and the service men and women who were honored on the field were certainly given one of the best spring game jerseys any school has to offer. It is kind of ironic that these men and women were just honored for the work that they do, because, as you all know, just the other day the special forces of out great nation were able to kill Osama Bin Laden, one of the most wanted men in the world. The 9/11 victims and their families have been given justice, and thanks to the work of our armed forces, the world is truly a better place. God Bless America, and Oregon football.
