One Term Down, Two to Go

My finals are finally over and it couldn't have come soon enough. This finals week was exceptionally grueling but I'm just glad to be done with the term. I was supposed to have two finals on Tuesday, but that turned into three as the final exam for my international communications test was moved to Tuesday as well. I only had one test on Thursday, but I had to stay in and study on Wednesday when everyone else was already done for the week. It paid off though, and I think I did pretty well on all of the tests I took.

I am excited to be on a break from classes, but I will be hanging out in Eugene for a little extra time to work some basketball games. I definitely want to go home like everyone else, but I'm sure I'll keep busy out here, and there are other athletic department employees that will be here for part of the break as well. I'm going to start looking for some jobs while I'm out here, but one of my biggest goals for the break is finding a ticket to the BCS National Championship Game. The Ducks may not ever be in this position ever again, so of course, I am going.

The planning for my trip to Glendale has already begun, and all I am without right now is a ticket to the game. My roommates and I have a rough idea of what the trip will entail, and it sounds like a blast. As of now, I will be flying to Los Angeles on the morning of Saturday, January 8th. I will be picked up at the airport by an RV full of friends and from there we will drive to Las Vegas for the night. On Sunday we will get up and drive from Las Vegas to Glendale. I really can't wait, but I won't have any sense of security until I get my hands on a ticket to the game. A few of my friends already have tickets and I couldn't be more jealous. At the same time, I don't want to have to spend $700 for a ticket, and I feel like the longer I wait the cheaper the tickets will be. However, I still have an insecure feeling about it and I just want to know that I can get into the game. I'm going to be optimistic about it all, and I think that I'll eventually get my hands on what to me is the ultimate Golden Ticket.

The BCS title game has been and will be the talk of Eugene for weeks to come. Of course I am biased, but I think the Ducks have a good shot to win if they can control Cam Newton. Terry Bowden from North Alabama was on ESPN recently and he informed the viewers that the Auburn fans down South think that game will be a blowout in Auburn's favor. Being over-looked may mean that the Tigers come out over-confident, leaving them vulnerable to a kick in the mouth from our high-powered offense. I can't wait for the game, I just need to make sure I'll be at it!
