Once finals are over all there is left to do is wait for the grades to come out. For those who feel positive about the term, this is usually a time of great eagerness, but it can be dreadful for those who fear that they may not have passed a certain class. I would say I am more in the first category for this term. I feel confident about my classes and am excited to see what grades I receive. They are not all up yet, but so far I have received an A- in animal behavior. I'll take it!

Remember that one of my goals for this winter break is to find a ticket to the BCS game. I just checked my e-mail this morning and I think I just got on step closer to achieving my goal.

This last week the student affairs office was hammered with angry e-mails and phone calls from frustrated U of O students and fans about the manner in which the BCS bowl game packages were made available to Oregon fans. Apparently, right after the Ducks won the Civil War game in Corvallis, the e-mail containing all of the bowl package information was sent out to Oregon students. The problem is that all of the game packages went for sale while all of the dedicated Oregon students were still celebrating on the field in Corvallis and/or driving home. People who didn't attend the game were able to purchased these packages while everyone who went to the game was making their way home. Consequently, by the time I got home to check my e-mail, the cheapest bowl game package was already sold out.

I have called the Office of Student Affairs a few times and sent them a few e-mails displaying my frustrations with the way the tickets became available. Today, I received an e-mail from them saying that I will have the opportunity to purchase the $450 game package (which is the cheapest) because of the fact that I was delayed in being able to purchase packages. $450 seemed like quite a bit of money at first, but everyone I know that has a ticket paid more than that, and this ticket includes a pass to all of the pre-game festivities. I am pretty excited about it, because now I know that I can buy this package on Monday and at least be guaranteed a ticket into the game.

In order to afford all of this fun and excitement I have had to become slightly more frugal with my money. Because I am staying in Eugene for a while over the break, I won't be able to work anywhere over the break to make money, like I was able to last year at Honey Baked Ham. I have essentially begun to collect change around my house, and once my collection is large enough I will take it to the bank. Other than cutting out un-necessary spending on food and fun, that is really all I can do, other than hoping that Santa fills my stocking with some extra dough this year!
