As I sit here preparing for finals week I have realized that my finals schedule for this term is one of the more relaxed I have had in my college career. While being at the University of Oregon I have had some pretty ridiculous finals weeks. During the fall term of my sophomore year I had three finals on Monday and a fourth that didn't take place until the Friday of that week. I have my sociology 204 final tomorrow at 8 a.m. and then I am basically finished for the term. I have a second final scheduled for my management class on Thursday but this final has recently been made optional. After this test we will have taken three for the term and our teacher has decided to allow the lowest test score for each student to be dropped. Basically, if we think that we are doing fine in the class as of right now then we don't need to take the final and it will be dropped as our lowest test score. I have done well in the class up to this point, so after my sociology test tomorrow I think I will spend the rest of the week preparing for my trek back to Denver at the end of the week.

Sociology 204 is an introductory course and it seems that my professor has tried to organize the course and the final in a way in which the most students will pass. Our final exam is 100 questions long but 51 of them come verbatim from the three previous exams we have taken. All of the exam answers have been posted online, so if one can memorize all of these answers, as I am trying to do, then he or she will automatically answer 51 of the exam questions correctly. I am excited to be done for the term, I just wish I didn't have to be up at 8 a.m. for it.

While the term is ending I keep adding to my list of things I must do before I return home. Whenever I begin to make my way back home or to come out to Eugene I am always convinced that there is something I have forgotten. This time I have decided to make a list for myself so that I am as organized as possible. First on the list is getting my car checked out at the auto store. Last year, a purchase I made that seemed too good to be true has come in rather handy. For $40 I bought a package from Elmira Automotive in Eugene that entitles me to five free oil changes, a free break inspection and a free tire rotation. I have used two oil changes and the tire rotation but plan to have my oil changed again and my breaks inspected at some point during the week. I can't think of any other place at which I could have all of this work done for only $40. It has proven most beneficial because it is imperative that my car is running in tip-top shape before I push it to Colorado.

Looks like my study break is over. I better get back to the books so I can ace my one and only final.
