The following takes place between 4:00pm and 5:00pm:

Street Faire is back! And I finally put four years of staring at the caramel covered apples to rest. I bought one. I can say I've had a caramel apple. I can also say I've experienced the stomachache that follows from massive-sugar overload. But hey, I finally tried it! Check another one of my Eugene "bucket list."

I was lucky because I almost missed browsing through the Street Faire this spring. It was extended an extra day as part of the Willamette Valley Music Fest happening today. I don't know much about the Willamette Valley Music Fest, but a coworker entered into a singer/songwriter competition so I adventured out to see what it was about. Apparently, this has been happening every year for 40 years...color me clueless. But at least I found it before I left! It just goes to show that after four years of being here Eugene can still surprise me. There are always new things to discover.

But that was this morning.

University of Oregon Track At the moment I'm getting amped up for the Twilight track and field meet with some friends. Now here in "Track Town USA" a track meet is always an enjoyable experience. But to be honest, of all the meets, the twilight meet is probably one of my favorites. I can't be certain why - not even all the stars will compete in today's events, but the Twilight meet always seems to have something special. Last year it was the 4xMile relay. That's four men, running one mile each. Fans even went down to the edge of the track, lining all of Hayward Field, to attempt to urge the runners to a new record. This year the big finale will be the men's mile, with up to 12 men trying to break the 4-minute mark. I've heard that Hayward Field is home to more sub-four miles than any other track on American soil. The other big event for the day will be the 60-meter dash run by men from the Oregon Football team. Fans will finally find out who is the fastest.

I'm so excited!

A pre-meet barbeque with some friends, complete with a round of croquet, is certainly getting me in the mindset to enjoy an evening on "Bowerman's Curve."

Authors Note: This term I've decided to dissect my day one hour at a time to inform you about my college life. My own life set to the Fox Network's hit show "24." ...If only I were as sensational as Jack Bauer. In this ‘season' you can expect a thrilling and innovative drama complete with a few unforeseen plot twists.
