Rick EricsonASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF ANNUAL GIVING Rick Ericson came to the University of Oregon with one dream and ended up realizing two. A native of North Bend, Oregon, Rick came to the university in 2001 to pursue a degree in Music. Like most college students, he needed a job to help pay his way through college and ended up working as a student caller in the Annual Giving Program. Fast forward four years. Music degree in hand, Rick headed for Australia where he taught music theory. And while he enjoyed his teaching tenure abroad, in the back of his mind the UO Annual Giving Program and its purpose, were never far away.
Today, as Program Manager for DuckCall, Rick proudly oversees 40+ students who contact alumni, parents and friends as well as the day-to-day management of the program including hiring, training and supervising students.
Looking back, Rick says if it weren't for scholarships and his job at the Annual Giving Program, he wouldn't have been able to attend college. And, like thousands of other Duck alumni, he supports today's students by making gifts to the UO School of Music and Dance Dean's Enrichment Fund.
