Responding to a challenge from last year's reunion class (1958), who made a record anniversary gift to the Cheryl Ramberg Ford and Allyn Ford Alumni Center totaling $158,000, the Class of 1959 is excited to announce that their 50th Anniversary class gift will also go to the Alumni Center. They plan to break the previous year's record by raising $159,000 for this exciting project.

Reunion leaders express, "Our reunion will give us a chance to re-tell the stories and revisit the experiences of our time at the university. By commemorating our Golden Anniversary with a class gift to the Alumni Center, we will help our university capture those stories for generations to come." At long last, the University of Oregon is building a facility dedicated to connecting alumni to the university, to one another, and to students and alumni of the future; a facility dedicated to telling the Oregon story; a facility that will welcome alumni back year after year and visit after visit. The Cheryl Ramberg Ford and Allyn Ford Alumni Center will be that facility and will transform the way Ducks connect and the way the University is able to engage its prospective and current students, alumni, and friends.

Reunion festivities will take place April 30th - May 2nd, 2009 and include a welcome reception at McMoran House hosted by President Dave Frohnmayer, campus tours, symposia, and the Golden Celebration Banquet where class members will be initiated into the Order of the Emerald.
